on April 12, 2007I find the composition and colors work well together. From the thumbnail I thought the blue was the sky and found the texture interesting when viewed at full size.

on April 11, 2007No no I don't like the color. If it were a cream or something offwhite even I think I would like it better. It just so happens that this is the real color of the shot.

on April 11, 2007SS is right -- what i kept staring at was the crisp texture and the soft back side of the flower, but my brain didn't engage enough to see what was going on. wish we all had a way to comment w/o seeing the other's first. after all, we are following critters (unlike others). you could try fuzzing it out some and see what that does, since you like the color...

on April 11, 2007I have to agree with all of you. I thought maybe it was just me so I put it up to see. I really don't care for the color even though it IS the color of the background. I think I might like the texture if it was a soft buttery cream color or something, not sure iabout hat either.

on April 11, 2007Tried to not read others comments first:-) The texture seems harsh, too harsh for the flower, just seems to not go together. Even tho' contrasting textures are nice this seems a bit off.

on April 11, 2007Im on the side of the texture not bothering me. but I'm not sure if it compliments the flower. I think what it is.. is the BG would not be in sharp focus according to the DOF and maybe that is what is throwing us off.

on April 11, 2007to me, there is a texture or color clash. but then i know nothing about color harmony (or texture clashes). i find myself staring at the texture and not at the flower. it's a free world.
