some research might show exactly how many flower pictures i've ever posted, so my knowledge/experience is verrrrry limited, but that's not gonna stop me from embarrassing myself. there are lots of these shots this time of year and i can't figure out why. this is a very fine example imo. ok -- i cropped it, but this time, i'll try to explain my logic so you don't think my crops are totally random. i love the infocus serrated edges and think their points make a nice stop in 4 places: left, top left, right and bottom left. i hated to lose the point on the big one at the bottom, but we have a stop there and it would have made it too square. another objective was to move the 'main' to a more off-center position (it happened to be left in this case). after all, we don't wish to lock the eyes away from the other wonderful stuff to look at.
Had a go at some of these yesterday, real PITA to shoot for some reason. Looks like a bit of PF along the main stem??? But I'm also seeing sort of the same purple in the BG so could just be a color shift.
