First I would like to applogozie for putting up shots from last week.
The reason I put this one up is because when I do curves on it it makes the upper right portion so dark I had to fade back and it seems grainy. Is it my camera settings?

on February 18, 2007IF you don't have any of the program noise jobs using despeckle in the blue channel works quite well. I have also used it overall in LAB. play around with it.

on February 17, 2007First of all I don't personally feel any of the posted photos need to be "fresh" feel free to post images from anytime. (I should state that in the guidelines but not sure how atm)
Now on to your question... ISO is 320 .. while the 20D and 30D are great performers at high ISO like 800 and 1600 you have better get the exposure just right or fiddling with it in RAW will send the noise into scream mode. This too also applies to any ISO, including 100, from my experience but increases exponentially as the ISO is increased.
So... even though the exposure seems right in this shot there are certain combinations of color and light that sometimes just scream noise when you push curves or saturation or both.
I use a filter called noise ninja when situations like this are upon me. It is a pay product tho so I don't have an easy free solution for you at hand.
