Ok, my problem is I just feel don't know if I am processing wrong or my shot isn't sharp enough to begin with.

on February 23, 2007My usual USM is 490-500, 1.3, 3 sometimes the threshold goes to 1, but not often. I would say 95% of my wildlife shots are done at those amounts. Rutt has done several good tutorials on sharpening, some more complicated than the one I use:-)

on February 23, 2007wow 490 - thats quite the hit... but with threshold at 5 that makes sense.
I agree there is absolutely nothing wrong with the original for sharpening purposes.
cute little one.

on February 23, 2007A bit more..You color etc. on this guy is super, just where it should be
I sharpened him at 490, 1.3 ,5 if I was working with the orig raw might have cranked him up a bit more:-)
Thusie
on February 23, 2007Not one thing wrong with that sq:-) Now I'm not good starting with a jpg, since I do WB etc. in Raw,(and I'm pretty clueless in CS2) but my thoughts are you didn't sharpen enough
