It certainly not bright and sunny here. It's been raining for about three days now.

All went went with my mom. She does have a nasty break in her distal fibula. The fitted her for a boot which is the equivalent of a cast now a days. She has to wear it for a couple weeks and then get re xrayed to see if it's healing ok and then go from there. The doctor was a comic and made my mom laugh.

Cindi, my girlfriends daughter is the who arrange all this so quickly stayed with us the whole time. She's a sweetheart.

Haven't been able to shoot last few days so I was digging through this months shots and came across this one. Not the best granted but I find myself missing those little birds. I have only seen them once for the past week. I don't know if they started their migration or it's just because it has been really cool here. Either way I really miss them.

My mom had twisted her ankle several days ago but was walking. It swelled up and I took her to the doctor. He said he didn't feel it was anything, jerk, but we insisted on an xray. Yep it's broken. The doc he referred us to wouldn't even get her in until next Thursday. My best friend's daughter works at an orthopedic office and got me in later today. I'm so glad because she is in pain on top of everything else.

Of course this is my mom and Gabe. Gabe does not warm to anyone very fast. It's normal for me when the grandchildren come over to say "make sure you give everyone a kiss and hug goodbye". I told my mom he probably wouldn't but I was pleasantly surprised. Especially when he put his hands on her face to hold her steady. I even had camera ready because we had cookout that day.

TheCuriousCamel > I don't get out much anymore as you all know but yesterday I got up early enough to go get a few shots and I had just got my 30d back. Fired off a couple shots on the 30D and error 99 came up again. I can't express how upset I was. Luckily I had the 40D with me to but with a different lens on it. I did start to return home because I was so bummed out. As I was driving I was moved by the light here. It's along side a big hill with lots of traffic but I had my mom's little jeep so I decided to pull off the road in this one patch of grass that was just wide enough. I got it which drives my husband crazy because he always worries I will get hit by a car. I try not to do that but the quality of light was so overwhelming I had to chance it. I even like the corn field in the foreground.

TheCuriousCamel > Yellow spidie on the petal of a sunflower. This guy was small, the only reason I seen him was he had crawled in the center on the dark part. Then I brought him in the house and placed him on a very small sunflower to take his picture, Yuck, I don't like spiders but he was different looking.
